I particularly recommend this exceptional establishment for its unique blend of history and modern luxury. Housed in four 19th-century historic buildings, the hotel won me over with its authentic hammam and panoramic terrace on the 8th floor.

My advice: book a room with a view of the Notre-Dame Basilica. The nighttime view of this illuminated monument remains etched in my memory.

Guests particularly love the Kyo Bar Japonais, an elegant tavern offering refined sushi and an impressive sake menu. For my part, I prefer the oysters and cocktails at Brasserie 701! There's something for every taste.

I particularly appreciate this avant-garde establishment that perfectly reflects the creative spirit of the Griffintown neighborhood. It truly feels like you're living in a neighborhood condo! To add to the purely local experience, the hotel showcases works by local artists that change each season, transforming the hall into a true ephemeral art gallery.

This warm establishment is located a stone's throw from McGill University, in downtown Montreal. A rather rare detail in Montreal, each room has a fully equipped kitchenette, perfect for preparing a brunch with fresh products!

However, my favorite element remains the heated indoor pool on the rooftop, offering a spectacular view of Mount Royal. If you want to treat yourself, opt for a suite on the top floor to enjoy the panoramic bay windows.

My crush is on this iconic establishment of the Golden Square. The 60s architecture elegantly revisited instantly won me over, as did the interior design that blends modernity with retro touches.

A standout feature: the hotel displays a permanent collection of contemporary Quebec artworks, transforming each floor into an actual gallery. The intimate library on the top floor remains my favorite spot to savor breakfast with a view of the fine arts.

I suggest booking a corner room with large bay windows. The spaces are remarkably bright, and the view of downtown is truly worth seeing. In the evening, the cozy lounge bar attracts both trendy Montrealers and savvy travelers.

The architectural fusion creates a truly unique atmosphere you won't find anywhere else in the city.

The panoramic terrace on the 8th floor particularly impressed me with its stunning view of Place Jacques-Cartier and the St. Lawrence River. If you're traveling as a couple, it's a must!

If you visit us in winter, book one of the six heated domes for a unique dining experience. I savored signature cocktails and refined dishes while the lights of the Old Port twinkled on the horizon.

Hotel Bonaventure Montreal: elegant room and relaxation by the pool.

I am fascinated by this genuine haven of peace suspended above the city. A well-kept secret: during winter, the heated outdoor pool becomes a magical spot where you can swim under the snowflakes.

Families will appreciate the spacious rooms with views of the gardens on the upper floors. If you can, opt for a room on the top floor, facing the waterfalls. Children love watching the ducks that frequently visit the ponds.

To be close to downtown, while enjoying the amenities of a large hotel chain, you can't find better!

#9. Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth

Iconic suite at Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth in Montreal, inspired by John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Bed-In, and gourmet dining with refined desserts and rosé wine.
Legendary suite at The Queen Elizabeth and refined gastronomic experience.

I fell under the spell of this iconic palace in Montreal. Its fascinating history revolves around the famous suite 1742 where John Lennon and Yoko Ono held their "bed-in" for peace in 1969, remains a mythical place. This suite still exists today!

By day, a must is the Artisans market. It transforms according to events and times of the year! It's a great place to meet for lunch or for a renowned pastry.

In the evenings, I indulge myself at Nacarat, the most refined cocktail bar in downtown, yet unpretentious. The mixologists create bold blends with local ingredients.

I have memorable memories of this avant-garde design establishment. Its contemporary facade hides a surprise,  a panoramic terrace on the 5th floor offering a spectacular view of the Quartier des Spectacles!

The rooms particularly captivated me with their layout inspired by New York lofts. Each space features floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a unique bright atmosphere with urban charm.

#12. Hôtel Gault

Refined breakfast at Hotel Gault with avocado toast and fruit pancakes, and couple in bathrobes enjoying a romantic moment on the balcony.
Gourmet breakfast and romantic stay in the heart of Old Montreal.

I discovered in this old building from 1871 a luxurious escape in the heart of Old Montreal. The transformation of the place in 2002 preserved the industrial soul while creating a refined contemporary atmosphere. You go to the Gault if you want to indulge yourself!

The large arched windows of my suite offered a perfect setting to admire the sunrise over the historic rooftops. The personalized service of the library with its selection of films and books is a plus if you prefer a relaxing evening.

My suggestion: book a room on the upper floors facing Sainte-Hélène Street. In 1998, the City of Montreal, in partnership with Gaz Métropolitain, installed twenty-two gas lanterns on Sainte-Hélène Street, paying homage to the lighting of yesteryear. This initiative has made the street a popular location for historical film shoots, making it a little gem of the Old City!

Hotel Nelligan: historical charm and elegant terrace in the heart of Old Montreal.

I had a real crush on this historic establishment in Old Montreal. Each room pays tribute to the famous poet Émile Nelligan with excerpts of his works engraved on the walls.

The exposed century-old bricks create a unique warm atmosphere, enhanced by refined contemporary furniture. My favorite spot remains the central atrium with its spectacular glass roof, a magical place to enjoy breakfast.
