I booked (as it is advisable to do) the motorhome before the plane ticket, in order to adapt my travel dates to the availability of motorhomes, and this, 6 months before our departure, in order to to have attractive prices and to this price I added a package of 2000 km and my rental cost me; around 850€ for 14 days.

When we picked up our motorhome, it should be noted that it was not plugged in, ie we could not test the electrical devices when driving. ;state of play. It appeared clean and in good working order to us. my rental I had added; a cooking kit (which was free) and a bedding kit (sheets/towels/sleeping bags/dishcloths) which was around 100 Canadian dollars.

- Indeed, the interior of the cupboards was sticky, there were leftover food, the dishes were poorly washed and our "kitchen" kit consisted of a few cutlery (6 tablespoons). coffee + 6 tablespoons + 6 forks + 6 butter knives and 6 knives a little sharper but with a round tip, still not practical for cutting meat, from 5 bowls of dé similar, 6 hard plastic cups and 6 large plates, plus some poor quality silicone utensils that were "melted" on the end (great plastic pieces that come off and are mixed with your food...)). In short, if you can, bring your utensils at least for cooking as well as a good can opener (I won't qualify the one we had...). The inside of the cupboards was also blistered; and damaged, and we quickly understood why: humidity; due to the condensation of the night ran down the walls and wet the wood of the cupboards and the sheets that touched the walls... on the ceilings (therefore black mushrooms you see), especially those near the berths (in the alcove, above the driver's cabin). Not very healthy all in all... Of course we would get some air every day, but behind that we have to warm up the inside.
- Regarding the heating, you should know that the vehicle cools quickly, and that it heats with propane. We don't think about it because it's not written when we book either, but we, for example, went to Alberta in early October and it was snowing!! We did not expect to ça (but it was brilliant huh!!), especially in terms of heating...You should know that in 2 weeks we filled the propane tank twice, which we find at gas stations, but not all of them (therefore regularly check your level of propane which you use for heating, hot water, the refrigerator and the stove!), and the full amounts to $25 to every time ! A small budget &; also take into account when preparing your trip! And it's up to the attendant to do it, so go ask first. Inside, the handling of gas is very specific, the attendant will come and fill the gas tank for you.
- Concerning the shower, it was clean, but if you want to take a shower, consider; put the water to; heat at least 15 minutes (or even 30) before taking it so that it is very hot.
- Regarding the kitchen equipment, our microwave did not work well. In fact the countdown digits were displayed, but it would not start... less than a "slap" on the side; to every use!! A bad contact probably dû to the shaking of the motorhome during the journey. Painful...
- You should know that the microwave does not make an "oven", so forget about frozen meals such as lasagna, pizzas etc...
- The cooker consisted of 3 gas burners. Gas then, and the grate was really dirty. It has even been assumed that some had to use it on campfires to make barbecue (dirt accumulated on the bars of the grid).
- The kitchen hood suction worked well, but the light was clogged with cooking grease, you couldn't see anything.
- Concerning the bedding, watch out for back problems... There were two of us for a C25, which means we had room! (Yes, because family motorhomes were cheaper on booking since there were more couples to travel than families, at least in my off-season booking period "). We had the choice between 3 beds: the bed in the back, the bed-table (remove the leg of the table and form a bed with the benches), or the one in the alcove above the driver and passenger. Of course, we took the bed, which did not require daily handling. The first 3-4 days &cced;it was fine, because we were simply exhausted with the great hikes we did during the day, but at the end of the day in the end, me who suffers from the back, I was literally broken in two. Mandatory stretching sessions for 30 minutes every morning! Then the mattress is covered with a thick plastic cover, which, you can imagine, does not breathe...
- Regarding the linen kit; $50 per person, let me tell you, that's the one thing you shouldn't take: it's just a rip off! In France they put what is called a fitted sheet on the mattresses (at the four elasticated corners which make the sheet hold on the mattress): there, there were two flat sheets and too short for them to fit. 'we could tie them up... suddenly at night we found ourselves constantly pulling on the sheets which formed a ball under the back, very annoying when we sleep of course. Not to mention the state of "cleanliness" sheets: they were washed but stained.... At this price, we still expect clean sheets, stained sheets, we turn them into rags! It was still not correct on the part of the agency. Very neglected detail. Regarding the sleeping bags, ditto, stained and pilled, we each had one, which we actually unfolded. to make two layers of blankets because it was peeling at night!! (-10°C at night outside often), so in short, take a little less clothes (because there are laundromats everywhere either in towns or campsites) and take your sheets and sleeping bags!! There remains the inconvenience of transporting the pillows, but this must also exist in "camping" format or included in a good sleeping bag! But at least you will save a significant sum for a service that is not good. (Bath towels not very clean either and tea towels that don't wipe the least bit... hand towels in fact!)
- Regarding the cleaning of the motorhome, you should know that it only has a small "child" size broom (to learn to fly it may be sufficient but for the household it is not is really not terrible...). So no bucket, mop, washing up liquid, sponge or washing up liquid...you have to buy it all! Not to mention the fact that, of course, you will have to go through a car wash before returning the motorhome (count between 15 and 20 dollars for cleaning).

Well, it was a first for us to go on a road trip in a motorhome! The trip was great, Canada is really a vast country and is full of surprises and magnificent landscapes, you will not be disappointed with the destination, at least you can be sure !!!

The camping mode must undoubtedly be more pleasant in the summer, it is not easy on a daily basis to go camping in the fall (which already corresponds to our French winter and I am from the North of France): you should know that you will constantly be a little cold, which your body will get used to (yes, you will be more resistant to the cold after two weeks already!), ;see thick socks for sleeping, flannel pajamas and thin fleeces for sleeping, and a good windbreaker and good hiking shoes, thin and slightly stretchy hiking pants that also fit well. go fast, a hat and gloves if you plan to leave in October, the mountains are unpredictable!

Our vacation budget for 18 days, for those who are wondering...:
- Plane ticket: 750 € round trip from Paris CDG, stopover (compulsory) at; Amsterdam, then long-haul to Calgary, PER PERSON, so 1500€ for two (+ 100€ of insurance that we had taken, but inquire already with your bank and/or insurance, we were in fact already insured with the guarantees of our credit card...)

We got 2 McDonalds and a sort of brasserie in terms of restaurants, and two museums in terms of paid outings. Well can you imagine that we came back with just 50 dollars!! In short, a total, for two of 4560 € for 18 days, all inclusive. It's definitely not a trip you take every day! But be aware that the motorhome is very popular in Canada and that, unlike what we thought, it is not necessarily cheaper than a hostel or a hotel in the end. On the other hand, whoever says road trip in Canada, necessarily says VEHICLE because you will miss a lot of things otherwise and the country is not well served by public transport!
