When I originally booked the car rental, I selected a mid size sedan underestimating the amount of luggage I would have. I ended up having to bring more luggage over with me to Canada because of postal issues. I was given an SUV vehicle instead without asking for it, and I'm assuming it was because of the agent seeing how much baggage I had. The vehicle was good, not expensive to fill up the gas, and I have no complaints on my rental experience.
Authentik Canada was also very accomodating to my requests for change of dates due to flight changes.

Very satisfied
When arriving to collect the car I was informed there was no damage to it, after my inspection I returned to the desk to inform them that there was lots of minor scratches to the car and that I wanted them documented before taking the vehicle as in Europe you would be liable for any damage, a very nice lady came and inspected the defects and told me that all damage was from the car wash and they didn’t count them, I returned the car a week later covered in mud and road film after completing a lot of miles and didn’t incur any additional costs. Great experience except pickup
The vehicle provided by Thrifty was a Nissan Sentra. Although it had travelled over 60,000 kms it was in generally good condition. I had an issue with the battery but Thrifty provided prompt assistance. The only negative was the pickup staff at Montreal Airport. The process took over 1.5 hours and though every other car rental company were as busy, they seemed to manage to serve their customers much quicker. The documents provided had no indication of the minor damage and scuffs on the vehicle, and when I raided this with the representative, he did not seem to care. I had to mark the diagram and then get another staff member in the parking lot to initial the damage, which he did not check on the vehicle. When I dropped the vehicle off at Toronto Airport, the representative commented that the Montreal staff were always hopeless. Overall a good experience except for the pickup staff. [...]
Nova Scotia Road Trip
Not the vehicle we were expecting (we had a Nissan Rogue not a Rav 4). Decent enough can, fairly new. Struggled a bit on the climbs but comfortable to drive
Easy and straight forward.
Everything was quite easy and straight forward. We changed the car type, which was processed with no hiccup. They even honoured the 5% discount on price matching. Plenty of documentation and notes provided to ensure everything went smoothly. Do recommend to read through all the notes, and give plenty of time for any changes to the reservation.

Pickup via Thrify was quick and well organised at Quebec. Return of car at Totonto was even quicker. Car was ideal for Canada's excellent and vast road system. Very relaxing place to drive! Loved it.

7 seater car hire
Pick up and drop off was prompt and straightforward.
Car very clean and in good order. Very comfortable for a month’s travelling around BC Canada for 4 people with luggage.

Not bad
Very easy to book the car online through Authentik. We had initially booked a compact car one way from Vancouver to Calgary, but when we got to the counter we were offered an upgrade to an SUV, because of where we were going (over the Rockies). We declined at first but the counter assistant was quite insistent. So we agreed. When we found our car we could see why he was so insistent, as the registration plate was Alberta. So Thrifty were clearly keen to get that car back to Calgary! On the way there were oil service warning lights and at one point a warning for the emergency brake system, but this cleared. Looks like the car was due a service. We didn't really mind the upgrade, but it would have been nice if the assistant had been upfront about needing to get the car back to Calgary. [...]

CAR HIRE IN QUEBEC CITY
THE PICKUP WAS EASY AND WE WERE NOT PRESSURIZED INTO PURCHASING ANY EXTRAS. THEY UPGRADED US TO A BIGGER CAR WHICH WAS CLEAN AND EASY TO DRIVE. THE STAFF WERE QUICK TO SORT EVERYTHING OUT ON OUR RETURN. THANK YOU.
Overall a decent service but issues experienced
The process of hiring was easy and staff were all very helpful. The car was the size we ordered and was of good quality. Our issue was during our hire we suffered a puncture -when we contacted the number for the call centre we were put through to the States who couldn't access the Canadian records. We tried on 2 days with the same issue and the call centre stated they couldn't help us. The number for the Vancouver Thrifty office was never answered. We sorted the tyre ourselves but the concern would be that if the problem had been a more significant mechanical one there is no way we could have contacted the company. When we returned the car the response was we could have driven to a local Thrifty office but where we were was nowhere near so this option wasn't open to us. [...]

Nissan Rogue hire
The car wasn't very clean inside on collection, windscreen was especially dirty and made visibility very poor on leaving the airport straight into the morning sun. It had just been washed on the outside and was still wet which made it difficult to check for prior damage. Towards the end of our 8 day hire the car engine warning Light came on advising of a failure. A short while later the auto gearbox couldn't get out of 2nd gear. A restart, fortunately on a quiet road, seemed to clear it but left us very nervous driving to the airport. Apart from that the car was OK. [...]
Reasonable rental at decent price
We booked a mid-size and got a Nissan Kicks which was ok. It didn't have a rear parcel cover which meant suitcases and bags were on display if the vehicle was left which felt a bit risky. Pick up from Avis Banff was ok, it took a while as there were many people in line. Note: If collecting on a Sunday (Banff Avis is open for 4 hours) make sure you leave plenty of time. We waited around 45 mins and it took 10 mins to process our pickup. Drop off at Calgary airport was quick and simple. Rate was very good through Authentik and customer service was great. [...]

Easy pick up via Hertz at Montreal airport. Choice of Ford or Nissan. Usual sales pitch but we had already taken out extra insurance. Authentik Canada were excellent at comms and clear about what we should expect. Would definitely use them again.

We bought rental car insurance in BC, Canada before we went on this trip. Thrifty car rental agent did not hard sell us anything.
We thought we booked Toyota Rav 4 but we got Nissan Rogue, but we were fine with it.
Out plan was to pick up the car in Toronto, and drop off in Montreal. The Thrifty agent suggested to prepay the gas as Quebec's gas price tends to be more expensive than Ontario, and we were glad that we accepted her suggestion.

Driving the car was excellent, exactly met our needs for our 2 week trip. With regards to collection of the car and the interaction with the desk staff this was not a good experience. Long delays (almost 2 hours), staff were not very customer friendly , minimal eye contact and very minimal customer interaction. However sometimes staff are just having a bad day. Calgary Hire
I had a Jeep initially. Not big enough. For no extra cost they upgraded to a bigger one. Enormous. Just watch out for previous damage. Our windscreen had an indentation from a previous stone impact. I was constantly worried it would split and expand, and that I might suffer financially. I hadn’t noticed the windscreen injury till after I took on the second car.
Quick and easy service
It took 15 minutes to organise, pick up and drive away. The as ordered vehicle. Very easy.
I good rental
We had the car for two weeks and everything was good. The car was fairly new and more than met the spec. The only complication was that Thrifty did not send a receipt at the end of the rental.
Decent car rental company.
A 'no fuss' company. Did not try and up-sell insurance.

Thrifty car rental
After a long wait in a shared queue - one queue serves Thrifty, Hertz, etc etc - the rental car was not ready despite the fact that I had booked a specific time slot. I was asked to do a walk around in the dark garage which made it difficult to see the scratches on the side. That said, they did provide a vehicle which was more than I had booked (I booked a 5 seater and was provided with an 8 seater for no extra cost). The car ran well and was fairly fuel efficient. The return process was slow as their computer wouldn't print out the return receipt and they added additional tax, including a $1 per day air-conditioning charge. I was fairly sure that my original booking had covered all expenses and I did not request any additional cover. [...]

Highly recommend booking through Authentik Canada. The booking from beginning to end was easy, quick and without any issues. It was also the best price for car hire I could find. Definitely use them again if we return to Canada.

Excellent Service
I booked through Authentik Canada as had read many reviews. I found them to be competitive and the website was easy to use. On the day I used Avis and actually got an upgrade on the vehicle. Whilst it was very busy in the Vancouver office staff were very courteous. Returning the vehicle was very easy, so would definitely recommend booking through Authentik Canada
