Fabulous Family Foray into the State of Quebec
We had a family wedding in Canada which dictated when, where and for how long we were able to travel. Our Authentik rep was very responsive in helping us to customise one of their holiday options so that it suited us. Everything was very easy, from deciding the quality of accommodation to choosing additional trip options. The car we chose was easy to pick up and great for seating the whole family and accommodating our luggage. The places we stayed in were all comfortable and we benefited from having chosen the breakfast included option as we were able to fuel up and make the most of the day. When issues arose we were able to contact the reps to get help with sorting things out. What I have never seen before is the quality of information provided by Authentik. On arrival we received a book with details on our trip, itinerary, vouchers, road maps, places of interest at our destinations, places to eat etc..
All in all we had a great time, were blessed with great weather, had great tour guides where we went and saw and experienced the beauty of the state of Quebec.

The small drawbacks: take a good look at the accommodations offered by default, we would certainly have made several changes, in particular to the Hotel Labelle in Montreal (very lively district, especially at night), the Hotel du Jardin in Saint Félicien (4-star hotel which surely deserved them one day, but this is no longer the case: dirty swimming pool, empty SPA, dilapidated room), the 5-star farm in Sacré-Coeur (cleanliness to be reviewed), the breakfast of the Hotel Clarendon in Quebec (the hotel is perfect, nothing to complain about, but lunch takes place at the adjoining brasserie: choice from a one-course menu, with few drinks included). Regarding the rental of the car, know that Avis can announce that the vehicle is not there in peace and make you wait several hours, while you have a rental at a specific time, for a specific type of vehicle. We were lucky to have a salesperson who offered to upgrade us at no extra cost, in order to avoid waiting. Beware, however, of oral proposals that do not correspond to what is then written on the contract: they offer to fill you up with the rest of the tank on your return (and you only pay for this remaining tank), and you find yourself paying for the full tank! As for the car, it lived...
The favorites: the Seigneurie du Triton, where we would have liked to stay longer if we had been able to (an extraordinary setting, activities organized by enthusiasts and included in the reservation, quality meals), our first seaplane flight in La Tuque, whale watching by boat (and we saw some, as well as seals, and an unplanned tour in the Saguenay fjord), the visit of Old Quebec (we may find that 2 hours is long, but in the end we did not see the time pass!).
We had also chosen to keep ourselves "off" days, which allowed us to get out of our road trip to discover less touristy places, such as the Ilnu museum in Mashteuiatsh, on the shores of Lake Saint Jean: very interesting, with guides who know their subject perfectly (special mention to the workshop to learn a few words in the Ilnu language). It also allows you to travel more quietly.
We had learned a lot about the way of life in Quebec: highway code, culture of tipping, nuances in vocabulary (lunch, dinner, supper...), which allowed us to be more at ease. Nevertheless, we found Quebecers very welcoming and understanding when we had doubts (especially outside the big cities)!
To conclude, very good memories despite the small flats, hoping to be able to repeat this trip as soon as possible, but surely over several weeks this time :)
