Good deal on the car
Perfect
We did not get the car ,we initially chose,but we got alternative options for similar car. The Jeep 4x4 was great and no issues during our stay. If you need a reliable car do choose the Jeep Comfort Limited with massive GPS screen and the GPS was very reliable. Checking in and out with Thriffty was very smooth and staff were very approachable.
Valerie from Authentik was very prompt and she answered all my questions. Rent with confidence from Authentik. Will use it again.

Frist surprise, after satisfaction
First when we arrived to office we went comunicated that the price was USD300 plus taxe more due to we droop the vehicle in other place. Well dont undestand this because in our order I was very clear Pick up in Toronto and droop in Montreal. but we were in vacation and we need the car. After this we are informed that they no have the same model car and we recive other more smaller but the cost for droop is reduced to USD100 plus tax. we decide acepted because we were in vacation.
The car was ok and no had more problems and droop it was very fast and easy.
I don't understand the first situation because the diference of two types of car exist and I don't undestand the cost of droop on car in other airport with same company and inside and a city like Montreal.
In spain you can pickup one car at Barcelona and droop at Madrid whitout extra cost and if the compny no have the car offered they supply other one of more high category whiout extra cost. and the the companny is the same Thrifty or Hertz.

Great car, great service
The car was exactly what we needed to do a lot of road during our vacation. We finally had a close to brand new Jetta. The service from Authentik was great and they answered quickly to my questions.

It's a professional and reliable service. More variety of cars available and great price. Much better then Expedia or direct Avis reservation. I will keep this website and company for the future reservations. Highly recommend to everybody who travels to Canada.
Got given wrong car, Thrifty blamed Authentik
Before arriving at Canada I was impressed with Authentik’s prices and customer service. However, we ordered a sub-compact car, and on Authentik it stared ‘chevrolet Spark or similar’. However, when we picked up the car it was a compact type car - a Nissan Sentra. We went back into the office and said it wasn’t a sub compact car, it was too big for us. They said that Authentik had told them to give us a compact car, and showed us the computer screen saying compact. We asked to be changed to a subcompact as we are fairly young drivers used to small cars, but they said they didn’t any left. Therefore we had to go ahead with the larger car, which made us nervous. We are unsure whose fault it was, but it did put a stressful twist to the beginning of our trip. [...]

Authentik Canada helped me rent a car cheaper than through the website. Everything was included even insurance so no surprise at the counter. Kelly helped me a lot with the reservation. On the day of the departure, as I already paid for gps the rental company have me magnificent car.

Car Rental Vancouver - Calgary
Excellent and fast service at the car rental. Car was as expected. We had no problems at all. Very nice car. Leaving the car at Calgary airport was fast and easy.
Authentik great, Thrifty poor vehicle
We rented a car through Authentik Canada. Their rates were the best we found on internet. The service level was excellent: fast, efficient and they even modified our reservation to change the main driver right away, no questions asked!
We rented at Thrifty a Toyota Corolla, 62 thousand kilometers. Not an old car, but this mileage level is not usual on rental cars. The main issue was the poor braking capacity, the ABS of this unit didn't work and we had a couple of emergency break situations (animals crossing the road) where we almost had an accident because of that.

Canada trip
The vehicle was not the Jetta as advertised but a Hyundai Sonata. Having said that it was quite satisfactory and easy to drive. It wasn't especially clean when I collected it, it may not have been washed beforehand. I didn't need to was it myself so it didn't really affect my travels. Staff at both points were friendly and helpful and made the process easy. I would recommend Authentik and use this service again as we made some changes to our booking and you accommodated us without any problems. A good service. Thank you. [...]
Competitive price
We've rented a car for 2 weeks to travel from Calgary to Vancouver. The price was very competitive and the service provided by Authentik Canada was good.
We've upgraded the car on retrieval and ended up paying a little extra. Which was ok as we initiated this ourselves. However what appeared to be NOT included in the price set by Authentik Canada was the additional drop off fee as we were dropping the vehicle off in another location (Province).
We were overall happy with Authentik Canada and we'd recommend the service.

Really bad contact with thrifty when we wanted to extend our rental
Disappointing experience
We had a bad experience car rental with thrifty. When we picked the car up we were charged with $81,73 for a premium Location Charge. We also were offered with a prepaid fuel tank, that we accepted because the thrifty staff told us that the price that they were offering to us was cheaper than the one we would obtain in the returning area (Halifax). Our surprise was that the price they applied was $1,33 ltr when the price in Halifax was around $1,14 ltr so we felt cheated by the staff.
Also when we dropped the car off we were accused to made a small scratch when that scratch already was on the car when we picked it up in Vancouver. We didn't take any picture because we thought it was so small that it wasn't important.

One way hire fees hidden
One way hire fees we’re not adequately highlighted pre or post order.
This was finally done after last payment was made.
I may still have made booking knowing this info but I will never book with Authentik again and I’m doing all I can to warn others.
great car, mediocre services
We got a Chevrolet Suburban. The car itself was ok, but the delivery process (pickup etc.) was not.
The car was barely ready when we picked it up, still hot from the last trip, had scratches on different sides that we had to note and picture ourselves - they were not on any delivery report from Avis. And the car had a permanent warning message ('change engine oil soon'). When I brought this message up at the Avis office (after standing in line again for another half an hour), the guy simply replied that it shouldn't be a problem as long as I would not drive too far/many kilometers. Anyway, he could not do anything about it since he had no oil there. If I minded about the message, I could always buy some oil myself and poor it in. As long as I kept the receipt for the oil, I would get the money back.
On top of it all, we later found out (in daylight - in the dark garage of the airport we had not noticed) that the interior of the car was really dirty. Snack wrappers on the floor and inside the dashboard, stains from drinks in the door etc.

Everything went as planned
Car ready even though we arrived early. The car itself was a little dull, but reliable and did what we needed. Return was easy. All in all, good value and would use again.
Worked like a charm
The shuttle service in Montreal was very much appreciated. The agent complained that we left garbage in the car after we asked if we needed to clear out the paper from the maps. There wasn't a trash can to toss the paper in and she went on about there were trash cans but couldn't show us where they were. Weird!!!

Great price attracted me to authtik Canada, but I was equally happy with the service from the agent.
Thrifty were good too, although I didn’t like their return charge at the end of the rental.

Nous avons loué une quinzaine de jours chez Avis Downtown Vancouver. Beaucoup de monde même tôt le matin à l'arrivée. On nous a confié la voiture sans aucune vérification carrosserie / intérieur. Le véhicule prévu n'était pas disponible, on nous a proposé un Suv Santa Fe en nous faisant croire que l'on était surclassé alors que c'était la classe inférieure ! Gros mensonge du préposé. Quelques jours avant de rendre la voiture, nous avons souhaité la garder 24h de plus. Par téléphone, le bureau nous dit ok pour 149 dollars de plus, mais à l'arrivée Ils ont ponctionné sur notre CB plus de 200 dollars ! Au retour, nous avons laissé la voiture au parking sans aucune vérification contradictoire et donc aucune certitude quant au fait qu'ils ponctionneraient ou non à nouveau sur notre CB s'ils trouvaient un défaut sur la voiture. All went well...
I was satisfied with Thrifty services. Pick-up and drop-off were quick and easy. The car was almost new and clean on the inside (not so much on the outside). There was no built-in navigation, but the multimedia screen was compatible with Apple CarPlay that allowed to use smartphone-based navigation. Hence, do not buy the expensive navigation option!
