There are two types of road trips in Canada: the car road trip and the RV road trip.
Contrary to popular belief, travelling by RV will not necessarily save you money due to higher rental prices (especially in high season). Most of the time, the budget is similar for either option. It's up to you to decide which travel experience better suits your needs and interests.
Here are some of the pros and cons of each option:
1- Car road trips

- Lower rental prices

- Greater availability, even at the last minute
- Easier to drive / park
Cons
- Restaurant meals (except picnics)
- Hotels / B&B accommodation (more expensive than camping)
- You have to unpack and pack at every destination
2- RV road trips
Pros
- Cook your own meals

- Harder to drive in the city (limited parking)
- More expensive in gas
