Jasper was definitely our favorite part of the trip, and 4 full days wouldn't have been too much to cover the area. Suggested additional activity in your Jasper guidebook: Star gazing/Aurora Borealis at Pyramid Lake. Unfortunately the moonlight did not allow us to do this but it seems to be a popular activity among the locals. There would even be observation sessions at Mount Whistlers in the fall, it is a priori a famous point in terms of low light pollution.
We enjoyed Vancouver slightly less, which despite its very pronounced nature side is still a city a little too hectic for our definition of vacation. But that's up to us personally and we still really liked Stanley Park, the aquarium and the pontoons of West Vancouver (we saw beautiful sunsets, otters, sea lions and crabbing sessions there quite impressive!)
