Ever since I was young, I always wanted to travel, cover long distances, to find myself elsewhere, to see what the world had to offer. There are so many different places on our planet that settling for just one all your life made no sense to me.
So little by little, when I could, I started exploring our globe, in line with the opportunities that presented themselves to me: small trips with friends in Europe (Serbia, Bosnia, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Spain, etc.), a short stay in New York and New Orleans, a bigger trip to Japan with my brother (what an incredible memory), and even a solo backpacking trip in Mexico.
I finally decided to attempt the Canadian adventure, leaving France and my "comfort zone", to settle in Montreal and truly live elsewhere in the long term. And what a good decision! I discovered a new territory (so rich), new people, a new culture, and there is still so much to do. They say travel broadens the mind, but it's since I have been in Montreal that I truly understand this saying.

Happiness is only real when shared.

My Picks and Travel Tips

What is my favorite destination in Canada?

I fell in love with the Ouareau Forest Regional Park, where I went camping. My favorite places bring together water and forest, and I found that perfect mix there. What a joy it was to be able to go down the river to find a swimming spot, surrounded by majestic trees. A truly idyllic place.

A tip for your trip here

A piece of advice that also applies to life in general: no preconceived notions, go and form your own opinion. You will sometimes (often) be surprised by what you might discover.

What is my favorite season in Canada?

Having grown up under the sun of the South of France, my answer will be a bit biased: summer. The heat, the blue sky, everything pushes me to leave my house and go on an adventure. But the other seasons, more pronounced here, are also very enjoyable: the colors of autumn, the brightness of the snow in winter, the unfolding of nature in spring. No matter the season, the landscapes change but remain always just as incredible.

What souvenir to bring back from your trip here?

Maple syrup and a red checkered shirt. Classics are classics for a reason...

Don't forget to pack in your luggage:

Your hiking boots, a cap, and your willingness to discover!

What is my dream trip?

I absolutely must go discover British Columbia and the Rockies, the photos I see are far too magnificent, and the testimonies I hear are far too laudatory.
Someday I also would like to tour Thai islands or the Caribbean, with turquoise lagoons and white sand, to the rhythm of the waves and the sun. Every day a new paradise, without rushing.
