Dreaming of exploring breathtaking winter landscapes by RV in Canada?
A RV gives you the freedom to discover snowy panoramas at your own pace, but there are essential details to consider for a successful road trip in Canada.
Winter RV driving is for experienced travelers, and we invite you to review the information below to ensure a memorable adventure... with no surprises!
- Check the weather forecast to plan your stay in Canada. The Weather Network is an excellent resource.
- Stay informed on road conditions, snow chains requirements, or any ongoing work via Alberta511, Drive BC and Québec511.
- Pack warm clothing, such as winter jacket, snow pants, multiple accessories (gloves/mittens, hat, scarf or neck gaiter, thermal socks), waterproof footwear, hand and foot warmers…
- Plan your overnight stops: some Parks Canada and Sépaq campgrounds (Jacques Cartier & Mont Tremblant parks in Québec) will be open in winter; some accept reservations, while others operate on a “first come, first served” basis. Some ski resort parking lots also allow overnight stays.
