My passion for tourism and travel began when I enrolled in the DEC in Tourism Management at the ITHQ in Montreal. As I'm from the region, it was a big change in my life! My first big trip was to British Columbia, to Sun Peaks, where I spent four months speaking English and being far from my landmarks. It's pretty crazy to realize that our country is so vast that you can feel out of place even at home. That's when I started making my bucket list, which is getting longer every day, much to my delight. My first “real” trip abroad was to Costa Rica, a five-week backpacking trip. Let's just say I don't do things by halves! It was an extraordinary trip, which taught me an enormous amount. That's what I love most about traveling: you learn about others, about cultures, about life in general, but above all about yourself.

I haven't been everywhere yet, but it's on my list.

My Picks and Travel Tips

What is my favorite destination in Canada?

I absolutely fell in love with Whistler! Even though I stayed there only a few days, I was struck by the laid-back atmosphere. The village is beautiful, a bit like Mont-Tremblant in the Laurentians, but with the Rockies as a backdrop. I highly recommend taking the "Peak 2 Peak Blackcomb Gondola"; the view from the top is breathtaking. And above all, having a snowball fight in the middle of July at the summit is an experience you shouldn’t miss!

A tip for your trip here

Be prepared for all kinds of weather. Here, Mother Nature seems to be constantly indecisive, and it’s hard to keep up with her mood swings. Don’t let the weather stop you from enjoying activities, as it can change at any moment.

What is my favorite season in Canada?

For me, it’s hard to choose between summer and fall. Summer means warmth, patios, festivals, and weekends at the lake. Fall, on the other hand, is a cozy season, with its vivid colors, milder temperatures that make wool sweaters enjoyable, and wonderful outdoor hikes!

What souvenir to bring back from your trip here?

Whatever you encounter on your journey that resonates with you, and when you return, it’ll remind you of all the wonderful moments you experienced here.

Don't forget to pack in your luggage:

A small backpack that you can take with you everywhere: in the city, on hikes, by bike, etc. And if you ever hear a Quebecer say, "y’a de la bébittes !", don’t forget to take out your mosquito repellent!

What is my dream trip?

A culinary trip around the world: discovering the typical dishes of each country, taking cooking classes with locals, trying strange foods, visiting unique restaurants, and learning about different cultures' food habits. For me, food is what brings us together; no need to speak the same language to know something tastes good!
